GROUP EVENTS RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR CATEGORY II (Std II, Std III and Std IV)
Event 1. Bhakti Geet / Desh Geet (8) ( Dur : 6min )
1. Song should be a Bhajan or Deshbhakti Geet.
2. Time allotted for each performance is 6 minutes.
3. Participants will not be allowed to refer to the lyrics while singing.
4. The participants will be judged on the song selection, voice quality, clarity and rhythm.
5. Participants can use musical instruments like Harmonium, piano and tabla. (background music and zero track will
not
be permitted.)
6. Participants should submit a copy of the song at the time of competition.
Event 2. Choral Recitation Competition(20) ( Dur : 6 min )
What is Choral Recitation?
Choral Recitation is the interpretation of poetry or prose by a group, comprising anything from half a dozen to a
hundred speakers. It involves a full and varied use of the individual voices that make up the group. There may be
divisions of the whole group into light and dark voices, broken and unbroken, male and female, treble and so on.
Individual voices may be used as solo.
Objective
The Choral Recitation aims at raising the level of interest and motivation among students in learning literature,
building their confidence in using the language as well as enabling them to enjoy the beauty of the language. In
addition, it also hopes to promote teamwork, discipline and creativity among the students.
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
Only prose/poetry pieces will be allowed. Copy of choral speaking texts must be submitted to the organizers two weeks
prior to the competition.
ELIGIBILITY:
This is a team competition and not individual. Each school may send only one (1) team. All team members MUST be from
the same school.
NUMBER OF ENTRANTS
Total number of competing teams is limited to 15.
The team must be accompanied by their teacher/parent throughout the competition. All participants must be in their
school uniform during the competition.
PRESENTATION
i. Its duration should not exceed 6 minutes.
ii. Team members are to stand in 2-tiered rows with each row not more than 10 persons.
iii. The name of the poet/writer and the book from which the poem/passage is taken must be announced before the
presentation.
iv. Microphones will NOT be used.
v. Any inclusion of singing, skit or physical movement should enhance
and not dominate the presentation.
vi. Team members are not allowed to refer to any notes, printed or electronic materials or devices during the
performance.
JUDGING CRITERIA
The judgment will be based on:
a. Choice
b. Clarity & Audibility
c. Ability to convey emotions through voice modulation, non-verbal communication techniques,
d. Facial Expression and body language.
e. Presentation
Points will be awarded according to the scoresheet.
The decision of the judges is final and abiding.
Please note:
Last Date to submit the forms is 16th October, 2023, late entries will not be entertained.
Kindly be present at the venue 30 minutes before your event.
If two events are happening at the same time and you wish to participate in both, you're welcome to do so, the
student
can finish one event
and then move on to the next.

and email
address.

Entry Fee: Forms to be submitted and participation fee of Rs.50/- per event to be paid using the QR code given above
or
at the school office.
For Group Events : participation fee is Rs. 100/- in events whose number of participants are two students and Rs.
200/-
in events where
number of participants are more than two.
